Modal views are view that are presented on top of another view. They are simple to implement, and with the iPad SDK, there are a few extra options available for presentation of modal views.

  • this is a good tutorial but you keep saying modal like model and the way you use it makes me think you are confusing the MVC model wirh a modal window..

  • @splitzvillesacto There really isn't much of a pronunciation difference between 'modal' and 'model'. Of course I'm not confusing 'modal view controller' with 'model view controller', the the first being a view displayed above another view, the latter being a design pattern. You need not pay attention so much to pronunciation. Not to mention, notice how the video is titled "Modal ...", so that should be enough of a clue.

  • You can use this method to dismiss the modal view...errr..."Whatever", very instructive ¬¬!

  • @noseguy Yes, I should've actually taught that part, but, you should've at least understood how to do basic Modal View Controller presentation.

  • Seriously, I have to agree with @splitzvillesacto. I tried to watch this and couldn't make it all the way through. You sound like a native english speaker, but can't pronounce the different between "modal" and "model" (both sound like "model"). It makes the tutorial totally confusing.

  • Great tutorial

  • [self dismissModalViewControllerAnimated:YES];

    i did it :)

  • how can i dismiss ?

  • @ConnorAlves your absolutely right, i beg your perdon

  • @juanjosegp1 Sorry for trying to teach people. Your input doesn't help me improve at all, but thanks anyway.
