@SiliconSabre Haha, I haven't heard that expression "Otto" to refer to an internal combustion engine, since I lived in Germany. I have not seen the new (neue ist deutsch, LOl) what capacity is it. Do you have a link I can look at? I'll see if I can find something in Motorrard (my favorite read when I lived there) I love all the mid 70s & early 80s Hercules, Sachs, Zuendapp etc. I really love all the 2 stroke 125 and 175cc road bikes, they were awesome.
@Scootertuner1000 BMW's Turbo Steamer is an Otto engine which is 10 to 15% MORE efficient than any other Otto engined vehicle (including the otto-electric hybrids). Another later member of VAG is NSU which was the world leader in the 50s. They were finally superceded by Honda, but made many excellent models until German successes killed the motorcycle industry, all but for BMW. Have you seen the neue Horex? Motorrad has details on ANOTHER 6 cylinder moto coming from Germany soon.
@SiliconSabre That's fantastic, they would have my full support, especially with the iconic Auto Union name. Have you seen how well BMW is doing in WSB? They haven't been in it that long, I think they'll take it away from Ducati before too long.
@SiliconSabre Yeah, VAG is amazing, how many high end car companies do they own now. They have the fastest production car in the world under them, Veyron Super Sport 276.8mph, that's absolutely mind blowing. That really is a Concord moment. Germans are the best engineers in the world, by far. Every tuype of internal combustion engine in use today was invented by Germans. 2 stroke, 4 stroke, diesel and rotary.
@Scootertuner1000 Which is all Volkswagen now. VW is considering either becoming an engine supplier or entering a team in F1 and they may resume using the name of Auto Union if they do. DKW was founded by the Dane Rasmussen.
@SiliconSabre In 1932, Audi merged with Horch, DKW, and Wanderer, to form Auto Union. Before World War II, Auto Union used the four interlinked rings that make up the Audi badge today, representing these four brands. This badge was used, however, only on Auto Union racing cars in that period while the member companies used their own names and emblems.

@semimortus Of which the MZ RT125 has been the latest version built just prior to MZ bankrupting. It's now four cycle (Otto Cycle).
