@afex2 he is uping his volts up to 12 for his inverters
-
Thanks for the great information!!

My question is, Why do the 6 volts get hooked up pos to neg and the rest go pos, pos, neg, neg?
-
wow that setup is awesome looking ....thanks for the video good info

I think a real traction set 24 volt cost $1500 - $2400.

hello OBXSOLWIND.
i have 2 questions.
Why you use a weak 12 volt power system? Why have you not opted for the more powerful 24-volt system.
And why you use 6 volt batteries and not a real tractionbattery with 2 volt cells.
I have a sollar system total 1320 watts 6x220watt kingsollar panels this panels give direct 44 volt for charging my 24 volt 680 amperes traction battery.
A better system is not available Of course, this is more expensive but also has a longer life span.

@91fatboy51 Tom Bedini has a battery charger system that will RESTORE charge memory effect.... try to look beyond the OVER UNITY HYPE

thundersky, calb or sinopoly. done

if you put a load on the batteries overnight to run like say a fan, how long will the batteries last before you charge them during the next day?
Only thing I haven't heard youu mention is the temperatures to keep batteries at. A lot of these guys have them out in there shops where they are at 90 and up in the summer and near freezing in the winter. How critical is the temp and is heat or cold worse? Thanx again Kevin and keep up the good work.-Nate

@N8Dogg1002 Hey Nate. Your right I wish I would have thought of that. Batterys like the same temperature as we do. A good charge controller or charger will have temperature sensors to change charging carictoristics for hot or cold. I hope all is well with you long time no hear from.

So you have 212 watt draw on the batteries when the video was shot - 1.69A draw @ 12.vdc = 212 watts. Good explanation in general for most people to use as guidance so they don't buy cranking batteries. You might know this but OutBack inverters and charge controllers have built in circuitry to equalize your batteries automatically. Great videos as always Kevin.

@econewpower The zantex charge controllers will do it automaticly aswell. I chose manuel eqalization because I can pick the day and be there. Pearsonaly it scares me. Your system is looking great!!!! Once again I have bean out done.

Kevin, since you are powering a good portion of your house with solar/wind what does your usual grid elec bill run?

@Floridaprepper Hey FL.. I tryed to responed to you when you posted this but it kept saying error. I have a fairly hungry house on a day to day bassis but it mostly hovers around a hundred. Still waiting on a FL PREPPER update?
