An incredible one hour documentary that captures the relatively unknown story of Irene Gleeson, a typical Australian grandmother who in 1992 moved to war torn Northern Uganda to rescue the thousands of children who were made orphans by AIDS and a 20 year civil war. Having faced multiple threats on her life by the LRA rebels and being forced to live in an incredibly hostile environment, Irene has since built three schools which feed, educate and provide medicine for over 7000 Ugandan children daily.
The documentary was funded by Christian City Church Westside (CCCW) to build awareness of the tragic conditions of Northern Uganda but at the same time to demonstrate how one person can change an entire community. The documentary will be premiered at CCCW's state of the art auditorium located at 20 Bailey Street West End. Irene Gleeson herself will be a special guest of the night. Tickets for the event must be pre-purchased and can be ordered online for $7 each at www.cccwestside.org.au
