During a hearing before the House Financial Services Committee, Congressman Don Manzullo unearthed a scheme by Fannie Mae executives to cook the books to ensure they received their exorbitant bonuses. Congressman Manzullo's testimony appears at 6:20 of this video.

The finger pointing is necessary because it highlights the people that are responsible for creating the environment that allowed this to happen. The keep sending assholes like Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Maxine Watyers etc back to Washington when they are at the root of this fiasco is complete insanity. Finger pointing is needed because someone needs to be held accountable. These assholes are still there with no accountability and that is a crime.

The heads of Fannie and Freddie were in bed with Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Maxine Waters, etc. Frank and Dodd and Waters are so used to lying, that to them it doesn't matter. The truth doesn't matter. The facts don't matter. Months before F&F went belly-up Frank was out saying that F&F were fine. And he, and Dodd, etc. would crucify anyone who suggested otherwise as fear mongers, racists, etc.

Most of our representatives are professional liars and thieves. Wake up people.

Well, regardless of finger pointing, which isn't gonna do anyone, any good, we need to go back to the root of the problem. GREED. It all started with real estate. People were so damn hot to make a few bucks, they speculated, drove up the cost artificially, built more unnecessary, overpriced homes until there were too many at too high a price. Then everyone had their hand out -- mortgage people, banks, you name it. Now were left cleaning up their mess.
