Captain Mark Tognazzini sets a line of 5 black cod traps onto the ocean floor off of Morro Bay, CA. The traps will rest on the ocean floor at a depth of about 1400 ft. They are baited with squid in bait jars suspended in the traps. The black cod swim through a fish net throat into the trap in search of the squid bait. The limit of black cod allowed is 1050 lbs. a week per vessel. Thanks to the expertise of Captain Marks, Deck Hand Jeff, the Captain is able to get his weekly quota.
