Zhang Fei is sworn brother to Liu Bei the eldest brother of the three. Zhu Ge Liang is sleeping while Liu Bei is waiting outside for Zhu to wake up. Sleeping while keeping your guest waiting is considered as irrespectible. You have to remember Zhu Ge Liang is a strategician that was recommended to Liu Bei but Zhang and Guang do not recognize Zhu's ability as a military and political advisor. Remember also that this the third time Liu has tried to meet Zhu. First two time failed.

This is when they first meet. Zhang wants to fight him because he thinks "oh Zhuge Liang, big deal, why is Liu Bei wasting so much time on this hermit chump"
Of course later on Zhuge Liang becomes the primary advisor to Liu Bei and the relationship changes.

Well, at this time Zhang Fei felt Liu Bei placed too much importance to a peasant. This is the third time Liu Bei visits Zhuge Liang's cottage in person. Shortly after Zhuge Liang joined Liu Bei, he proved his worth and Zhang Fei showed him respect after that....
