Okay, I promised Barrocorococo (I know I spelled that wrong =P)that I would upload something that I wrote. So here it is. I wrote it today (the day it was uploaded) in like 10 minutes. This isn't one of my serious compositions, I ASSURE YOU!!! This is a terrible example of how my compositions sound; that being said, I would've uploaded them, but they're all incomplete (I'm VERY lazy). That's because they're big compositions (sinfonias, orchestral suites, concerti grossi, etc.).

So, anyway, this piece is SUPPOSED to be a Fantasia for solo viola. I used MIDI sound tuned to Baroque Chamber tuning (a'=415 Hz). I've only finished the 1st movement, which starts off with a very small Grave followed by a moderately-paced allegro (hence the non molto). I wrote this movement in literally 10 minutes, so I didn't edit anything out of it or in it, hence, you're hearing that and the mistakes that I made. SO PLEASE BE GRACIOUS WITH YOUR CRITICISM!!! I know it's terrible (that and my music program is cheap, more like free, and the SoundFont is terrible) There were also supposed to be some Trills in the Grave but my music notation software cannot produce a trill sound =/.

I will try to upload something serious when I finish them ^_^.

  • Thanks for sharing, Bryan! You show great potential and promise. I'd love to hear more of your compositions (even if they are unfinished ;-) ).

When you say 'sinfonias', do you mean three-part inventions (as Bach used the term), or orchestral pieces?

Thank you again for posting one of your creations! :-)

  • When I say 'sinfonia', I'm referring to the orchestral pieces, in other words, a symphony (though much shorter, like C.P.E. Bach's Sinfonias for Strings and Continuo, WQ 182). Thanks for commenting!

  • 10 minutes? It took me 3 days to write 40 seconds worth of music for a sinfonia I had tried to compose!

  • Hi! this piece have a good potential. And I should add that it is okay to take the time you need to achieve your compositions. Some of my pieces take months even years until I fully complete them. It is preferable to think it over than writting bad music now what do you think? :-)
