LB Shed Drill - Youth Football

This is the 2nd progression in our LB shed drill. Part 1 of the progression has players start by walking the drill. they take their LB stance and shed two blocks and then scrape into the hole and wrap a walking or jogging RB.

The 2nd progression has only 1 blocker and live runner similar to the Oklahoma but the blocker does not move to allow younger LBs to learn how to scrape and fill.

Despite the walk through and technique training you can still see player struggle to get their head across on the tackle and some of the newer players are still not 100% into contact at this point in training camp. LBs at the youth level must get tons of reps on technique or they will be making tackle 5-10 yards down field.

I love the comments posted by some of the viewers regarding me being a racist. The fact is some of my players are white and some of them are black. Just because I made a joke about two players that have know each other for years does not make me a racist. It makes me human. @Lamontekid, he isn't yelling at them so much as pointing out areas for improvement. If he never did, they'd never improve. If you decide to sugarcoat it and tell them they're doing everything perfectly, he'd be doing them a disservice by letting them be bad and stay bad. This vid is good coaching.

I like this coach. Good style telling the kids they did good on play or what they need to fix but kept things rolling. Great coaching and I bet you produced a great team.
