So is Ruth the real estate salesman's daughter? If she is...she's cute but the only one that really does it for me is Susan...but I'm very into intellectual types, felt sick when she was turned in the book, and she actually had some lines after being turned. Also, she's closer to my age.

They couldn't fuck up this plot even more if they tried. A least Barlow and Straker were decently casted. Thats the only thing positive I can say about this remake.

I dont remember in the book she was sexually used by her dad but she was slutty

Ruth's father, like the priest, is a vampire in a symbolic sense---exploiting people for years and profiting on it one way or another.
They both get their just desserts.

no way man bonnie is the babe in the book. but that damn linesman gets her in the sack

and hey i dont care im willing to watch a 6-8 hour movie...in segments of course

now if they had all of the scenes from both movies redone by the director of the original (1979) this movie would not have butchered the work of the King :P
why is it the plot is nothing like stephen king's novel?

Sorry, but this film is lame when compared to the original movie and most especially the novel. This director jst didn't get it; creepy terror seaks up on you and chills your blood, special effects and exploring what it must be "like" to be a vampire are ridiculous distractions and NOT scary.
