Love does hurt............sometimes, but if we don't experience the hurt then how can we fully appreciate all the truly wonderful feelings that love makes us feel ?

I have to agree with foz, this is the best version in my opinion but I did rather like Rod Stewart's

"Jim also wrote it."
No he didn't! It was written by Boudleaux Bryant - Everly Brothers covered it in 1960 - Jim Capadli would have still been at school then LOL
-
Jim also wrote it.
The thing with it - is that it can be sung 'Pop' - a la Jim , 'Blues'- Naz , & 'Ballad' - The Big O. Yes, Jims' arrangement is a tad too 'clean' for me ( but funky organ at the end...[ Stevie? ] ) --- but great melody finds ithe way every which way.

I sing this song to my girlfriend especially when she is beating me round the head with a frying pan after I have been to the pub all night !!
