  • I just saw the old KRS Sprite commercial. You can't do a commercial for Sprite(owned Coca-Cola) and not be a sellout. Anyone who knows about Coca Cola should know how they steal all the fresh clean drinking water from the third world countries where their companies plants are, leaving NO clean drinking water for the poor starving people who live there. Not to mention that their soda products are pure poison mainly promoted at young people.

  • @BornScreaming

I think its very ironic, that Griff attacks KRS-1 (and damn near erybody else in this industry) for "selling out"...but he still accepts awards from the Soul Train Awards, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame...whose sponsors (Time-Life, VIACOM, toxic food, alcohol and soda industries, insurance companies, etc) are the very same companies he accuses others of selling out to.

If you think this industry is poison, then why accept their awards? Check out "GRIFF MAKES 2012 ANNOUNCEMENT"

  • @prideventues

THAT'S BEEN MY POINT ALL ALONG.

Griff sells this stuff so he can eat. But we don't have celebrity status, aren't well known, didn't come from a rap group, don't have million dollar homes.

Im betting that Griff pays the same electric company and internet service that I do. So who is really the sell out?

  • @7Beyonder Actually he does because Flava Flav, Chuck D, and Terminator X does. If he wasn't in Public Enemy(and I don't know why he was he doesn't rap, and Flav was already the hype man) no one would give a damn about his opinion.

  • It's that his message is not conducive to making the powerful more powerful.

It's that his messages make the poor more powerful and the powerful equal.

  • Conclusion.

So why the FUCK would I set anyone up with the answers on "how to be my peer".

I like people making me rich and making sure my bloodline has no competition.

If I play the rap that helps you dig yourself out of whatever godforsaken hole you were born into ... then one day, you'll be my equal.

This is the reason we hear bullshit no the radio instead of KRS.

This is why KRS is nowhere to be found.

It's not that he don't sell....

  • 3rd. And here is the fucking kicker.

If I make 40 million a year by selling music where the end game is not optimal....then, my great great great great great great great great great grandchildren are SET. Before even being born or working ofr a DAMN thing...their future as leaders of the country are SECURE.

Meanwhile, what happens to some of the kids listening to the garbage lyric I choose to sell? They're to be ruled by my bloodline for 100s of yrs to come.

    Conclusion.

  • Secondly, when you look at the end game of the messages in these different types of rap, we begin to see that one has little chance of graduating Harvard and one has little chance of ending up dead or in jail.

INFORMATION is not "white". And besides, "white" is actually just "black but from a different part and time of the world."

The white POWER system has themselves positioned as though "education" is theirs. Euro-centric education is. Education is not. KRS educates, for instance.

    ..3rd..

  • We ain't hearing none of it in the public mainstream.

There are several reasons why this is.

Firstly, people say "it's because it doesn't sell as well as mainstream."

But hang on a sec, people buy what others choose to market.

If I have a fake rolex in my palm for everyone to see and buy, and a real one in my pocket...if I can get the same price, I'm going to sell the fake and keep the real for myself.

You don't know, and can't buy what you can't see and isn't marketed.

    ...secondly...

  • Selling out is when you put lyrics in your music that will sell well, but be a detriment to black society, especially the impressionable youth of today.

Not selling out is when you rap because you love to rap, and won't change your lyric and where you're coming from, no matter how much some clown in a suit offers you to do so.

There is lots of rap condemning bling, crack, and colors, and lots of rap putting BOOKS and SELF-RESPECT on pedestals so we can have UNITY and FUTURE.

    ...but...

  • i bet he drinks softdrink though

  • ****I CAME TO GRIFF LIKE A MAN ON FACEBNOK AND STRAIGHT UP ACTE3 LIJJE A CELEBRITY WHITE AITCH.GRIFF FAKE.HE JUS PRETEND HE DOWN WITH BROTHERS.GRIFF A BITCH NIGGA ON PMS.THATS WHY P.E.KICKED HIM OUT THEIR GROUP.DUH.
