78 RPM Record recorded at 68 RPM. Cielito Lindo (Beautiful Sky) Mexican Folk Song Soprano with orcheasta in Spanish with Dusolnia Giannini an RCA Victor number 1195-A an Acoustic 78 RPM Records records sometime during the late 1920's

(x2)Pájaro que abandona,
Cielito lindo, su primer nido,
Si lo encuentra ocupado,
Cielito lindo, bien merecido.

Chorus(x2)Ay, ay, ay, ay,
Canta y no llores,
Porque cantando se alegran,
Cielito lindo, los corazones.

(x2)Ese lunar que tienes,
Cielito lindo, junto a la boca,
No se lo des a nadie,
Cielito lindo, que a mí me toca.
(English roughly)
If a bird abandons his nest,
heavenly one,
then finds it occupied by another,
that first bird got what he deserved.

Ay, ay, ay, ay,
sing and don't cry,
for hearts are happy, heavenly one,
when singing.

Don't give away that beauty mark
that you have next to your mouth,
heavenly one, to just anybody.
Share all your beauty with me.
Recorded on the Ion TTUSB

  • So far no one I have heard yet has sung this as beautifully as Desi Arnaz ("Ricky Ricardo") in the "I love Lucy" sitcom, 1952 episiode with the walk-in freezer that "Lucy" and "Ethel" acquired andstocked with 700# of meat. "Ricky" was singing this and playing the guitar to "Ethel".

He sung it about this tempo and with a lot of emotion.

  • Zefren, This is an electric recording made in 1926 I believe. This pressing dates from sometime between 937 and 1940. Try someplace between 72 and 75 rpm.

    Regards, J.
