@MikeBlitzMag I know just what you mean. I used to let it annoy me but there's so much of this sort of crap around that I've learned to laugh at it. They have no idea, mixing everything up as though it all happened in one massive tidal wave of nonsense. There's too much for them to deal with. Console yourself with having lived through some wonderful times that others from a later era can only envy. I wish you peace.

@epicwinman44 no its not read facts not fiction

Jerry Leiber (RIP) & Mike Stoller wrote the "Searchin'" that The Coasters sing at the beginning of this clip. The Del Shannon tune is called "Keep Seachin'", written by himself. @epicwinman44 is wrong.

RIP to Coaster Carl Gardner

Amazing how many here who didn't live through it simply do not understand either artists and get all of the facts and figures wrong. For those who at least try, God bless you! All the more reason why those of us who lived through it need to be as dilgent as possible in preserving this rich history. And yes, Del Shannon's record was Keep Searchin' from early 1965, while the Coasters were singing their own Atco label single, Searchin' from late 1956. Definitely two entirely different records.

To set the record straight - these are 2 completely different songs. Del released "Keep Searchin", not "Searchin" which was the Coasters classic hit
