Examines how ConvertXtoDVD treats aspect ration and video resolution to adapt files to TV screens. Learn what settings to use to avoid black bars when converting video files.

The only DVD resolutions that exist are:
NTSC Fullscreen 4:3 - 720 x 480
NTSC Widescreen 16:9 - 538 x 480
PAL Fullscreen 4:3 - 720 x 576
PAL Widescreen 16:9 - 538 x 576

Therefore chose a resolution in PAL or NTSC (depending on your region) which is closest to to original files resolution.

Also on your DVD Player or TV know that you have settings to change the way your TV displays the images and this could be what is affecting your results.

  • i successfully converted the video to full screen and maintain its quality...but the problem is, it has no sound when i saved it in the usb...how do you cure this?

  • @manolitomulat can you play the converted result before you put it on the usb, and did it have sound?

  • I enjoyed Your Short Clip

  • @anthony66363 thank you!

  • Is the sound supposted to be working when the video preview is showing up when converting?

  • no, there is no sound in the preview. In fact if you have a fast computer the video in the preview should in accelerated motion.

  • pan -scan is the best setting! for videos that originaly too wide. wider than 16.9 . nearly all avi's ive "downloaded" have black bars above and below, causing me to have to zoom when watching the movie. pan- scan i recommend, fills the screen

  • I´ve have this problem: My tv screen dosn´t show the whole video from my converted videos and dvds. I´ve tried everything but nothing happens. Even if I use "dvd shrink" to shrink a dual layer dvd to 4.7 GB dvd, the tv screen cuts a big part of the video of. On my computer, It works perfect. Is there anything to do? Anyone, help me please?!?

  • @suzcube66 convenient if your hauling your pc around.

  • The new version has some new features like adjusting yourself the resizing values the problem is as you mentioned that you practically have to make a new version for every different tv resolution otherwise the black bars will show or the subtitles will get cutted off anyway it's preferable to see black bars than having incomplete subtitles which can be very very annoying.

  • 4 get all that, just buy a vga connect cable and connect from pc to tv, then watch the movies straight on ya screen

  • @EBbugattiveyron101 how do i get the key with out buyin it
