I think the advertising of blizz games from blizzcon might end up making them money in the long run, exposure is always a good thing....
The starcraft tournaments definitely get people interested.

Lets be honest what would they have to offer at blizzcon 2012? If Mists of Pandaria hits, it will be just getting its feet off the ground by then, sooo the only information would be like 5.1 or something.. even that would be too soon from release for it to be relevant. Diablo 3 would be either ABOUT to come out, or out.. Diablo 3 wont have an expac for several years... Heart of the Swarm will have all of its information out.. There is literally no information for any Blizzard Game...
