Why were drugs made illegal in the first place? Weren't they legal in the early 1900's?

@cattlecarnage1 The legalization of hard drugs might work in the netherlands but it would never work in the U.S. Dutch people are waaaaaaaayyy different than american people. If hard drugs became legal in the U.S, the people who were already addicts would become even bigger addicts, and thousands of people would turn into addicts within the first week. Legalizing hard drugs in the U.S would destroy the country.

@NDguy191 crack, cocaine, heroin, meth, DMT, LSD, and so on. All the hard drugs should definately be illegal.

I nominate the lady, who asked the first question, for president.

@420captain When I hear welfare in the U.S, I think of people, usually lazy, to get money from the government without being employed. Some might abuse the system
All I want is to be people to go back to work. Those who don't, then that's their problem. Those unemployed but said no to work should not be on welfare at all. ALL PERSONS WANT WHAT THEY WANT HAVE TO EARN IT. I think that is what Ron Paul believes.
I understand that poor people are poor. Some want to work, but can't find work....

@NatedogJr You see, when people complain about welfare,I wonder what there problem really is? Do they think poor people should just be poor and like it?or that poor people should beg the rich for help?Poor people are poor for many reasons but not because they don't want to work.Sure some people do game the system and that upsets me,but compared to all the bullshit the government waist's money on, welfare mother's just don't bother me that much.End the wars,End the drug War!! Peace.

@NatedogJr Most of what you said I agree with,so you are preaching to the choir,But your argument that people would rather stay home all day than work at a good job is a bit of a stretch. The facts are that there will never be 100% employment,so there will always be a need for welfare of some sort. And right now unemployment is about 10% last I checked. No Jobs = No employment. Simple really.
I love that he actually answers questions.. .it did take him a while to get there, but he is 70+ years old so I'll give him a pass.. .

@420captain In 1984, libertarian author Charles Murray suggested that welfare causes dependency. He argued that as welfare benefits increased, the number of recipients also increased; this behavior, he said, was rational: there is little reason to work if one can receive benefits for a long period of time without having to work.
Call me "nuts" if I believe in Paul and his views. BECAUSE I DO.
RON PAUL 2012. Even if he don't win, I will still agree with many of his policies.
