@freshgreens2006 yeah right? It did seem to be so far in the future. trickle down is a very underrated phrase!

Lovely, thanks. "Less future than past" wonderful lyrics.

This is so sad ,and true.Time used to stretch far into the future and disappear.
Then, quite suddenly I am a Grandmother.I am the same like the same.
.I would like to know the history on this particular recording .Was Kate's(RIP) voice dubbed in from another harmonizing session with her sister ?
Thank you for posting this wonderful brief but inclusive commentary on life.

@tullsongs It is E for four beats, and then another E for four beats, and then B7 for four beats and then back to E for four beats... E E B7 E. And then at the bridge,, Once as a Boy,,,, it is all just B7 then it kicks back into the E E B7 E chord progression for the last part.

Kate and Loudon were married at one time, for those who didn't know. This song is on the 1975 Loudon Wainright III album called Unrequited. It is not something they put together after Kate died and her voice was not dubbed in with any technological trickery. It was a song they really recorded together.
