A technique from Ma Jianguo and Li Baoru's 26 volume set of VCDs broadcast on China Central Television.

Uploaded with permission

Until i can put subtitles on this remember:

Grip the wrists tightly

Use your elbows to trap your opponents arms tightly

Your head needs to stick to the opponents body

Make sure your stance is one that allows you to explode up and backwards

Go for gold!

  • where can i find the vcds? thanks for sharing

  • i dont think they are for sale anywhere, these were segments boradcast over 3 years on China Central Television... i train with Ma and Li so i got a set. There are 26 volumes in the series. How much might you be willing to pay for something like that? Perhaps i can convince him to make a batch and sell them....

  • beautiful technique!

  • Why would anyone ever try to counter a shot by staying on their feet and wrapping their arms around the opponent's waist? They would sprawl and go for the front headlock. This move can't even be done if your opponent sprawls... Although my background is in wrestling. Perhaps it's legit in Judo?

  • Ashwix: There is a 10 volume DVD shuai jiao set taught by Peter Chema being sold in the US for $110. If you marketed it right, depending on the amount of content you have, you could easily sell it for that amount.

Heck, you could even do what submissions101 do, and sell it for download online and make even more, provided the vids come with good subtitled translations.

I for one would love to purchase a copy!

  • subtitles...when

(If u don't mind i'll do it like I did wit my iron arm video)

  • is this legal for judo?

  • That's a great technique to use on a bad shot. Suppose you shot in for the take down, and your opponent does a sprawl. That's a great reversal technique. You would have to turn around quickly to avoid a crucifix submission.

  • oh my god.. I gotta use this xD

  • Great technique!! I try to catch my opponent's legs often so this is good for me
