An experiment by a former believer. Some say ear coning draws out excess wax and fungus. Others say that the residue is actually from the ear candle itself. I brought home my results for a little test. I found that the 'fungus', when heated by fire, melts and becomes just like the 'wax'. So unless that's how earwax is made.... I'm afraid it's just another myth...

  • I can help you dear one...i can give you a number to call.. and they give you free health advice. they helped me with many health problems. just let me know if u want to give it a try.....

  • @Str8IndianHair Thank you for the offer! I'm in France though and I think what I'm going to do is find an ear doctor. I've been a bit slow about it since it's not life-threatening (just sanity-threatening) and I also hate making phone calls here when I don't speak much French... :-P

  • @phatns2pid I know not everyone experimenting is a nutjob. My own father tried this. Turned out his doc had to clean his ears. I almost considered it after having a blocked feeling in my ear, like is was always full of water.

My doc had to clean my ears - used all kinds of scary tools and pulled this huge black mass from my ear. I was horrified. At one point. he actually said "you're crowing" It looked like a giant roach had been extracted from my ear. But it felt so good afterwards.

  • @logictrigger ew. lol. I still haven't gone to a doctor about it.... I need to figure out exactly where to go here in France, for things like that... an ear doctor... a dermatologist... what else do I need... a dentist...

  • That is candle wax. Your message is good but you are validating morons by performing an unnecessary experiment. If they want to risk burning their eardrums with hot wax - let them.

These are the same people that kill their children by using alternative medicine.

  • @logictrigger well... to be fair, more people die every year from using their medication AS PRESCRIBED than they do from "alternative medicine". It's one of the leading causes of death in the US. Over 100,000 a year.

  • @thezeeyes This has been proven to be ineffective and dangerous.

Penicillin has been proven effective even thousands of years ago.

This is the process of science. Science seeks to disprove a hypothesis by running vigorous experiments. You must not demonize those who use the scientific method

to 'discredit" others. They simply seek knowledge. And failed experiments increase knowledge. Learn about the scientific method before calling others narrow minded.

  • @logictrigger whoa there logictrigger. You realize, do you not, that by stereotyping thusly makes you as narrow minded as the people who, less than 100 years ago, wanted to discredit another 'alternative medicine' because it basically was a form of mold.

  • If your tinnitis is being aggravated by wax buildup, just go to a clinic and get them to flush your ears out. I have to have it done occasionally (less than once a year), and it's amazing how much it can help.

  • @logictrigger Not everyone who tries the occasional alternative treatment is a compete nutjob.

  • Thanks for info. Hope you find something that works. Btw you cat in the background is a cutie.

  • @kendalismyname

Also, I hope I didn't appear to be an excessively assertive jerk in my original reply. I let my emotions take over and get weird sometimes.
