The most important and impressive show played by the Lindsay Kemp Company.
Based on a Jean Genet narrative prosepoem ("Notre Dame des Fleures"), Flowers (like said a journalist) "is nothing less than magic, black magic. There are many words for Flowers: garish, gaudy, fetid, funny, and hugely offensive. But most of alla, unforgettable."
In this slideshow the photos of the italian tour in 1981.
I was here... teatro Eliseo Rome.

I saw this performance in New York in 1974.
I met Peter Gabriel shortly after and he too was seriously impressed by LK. I found out years later that Lk Did a production of the Lamb in Italy at a Festival. It all goes round.

David Haughton lives in Italy, is married with children and still sees and works with Lindsay. I saw them together in Elizabeth in San Sebastian in 2008, I also had a chat with LK before the show. David is a well known screen and television actor in Italy and goes by the name of David Brandon.

I studied with Lindsay and company for 3 months in 1979 in Toronto where they were also performing Our Lady of the Flowers. I remember Lindsay shouting to us in the studio, "stop the world!" with your movement, with your breathe. He spun us on our heads, literally and when they left for Caraccus, we were in a daze and didn't know what to do next. We had studied with the wildest choreographer ever and had travelled to the outer limits with him. I would love to know where David Haughton is!!

I saw Flowers 18 times in the seventies. I cannot forget it. This music, overlaid with the sound of a storm, was played during the funeral scene with all the drag queens with black umbrellas. The music is from Mozart's Mass in C

saw Flowers in London 1974. I was mesmerised. There was an aria- Mozart? Bach-? I seem to remember it was a rainy scene. I was young at the time and memory is dodgy.

I saw FLOWERS in Genoa, Italy and it stroke me . I still remember it and the emotions it caused me. It was a sort of botoh with a Marcel Marceau style, in short it was the first time we saw the Kemp style.
