I always wondered why Barbra Streisand never
sang the "intro" in her recorded version of
"the shadow of your smile". Guess she was
waiting for Johnny Mathis to record a
superb "intro". It's all a fantasy. I have
always imagined Barbra and Johnny singing
this great movie song together.

Beautiful Elizabeth Taylor. She was blessed with such
beauty that watching her movies your eyes were fixed
to the screen image . i thought she was amazingly beautiful
in ELEPHANT WALK, and in the SANDPIPER, and in
CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF. Her empathy to others knew
no boundaries..to Michael Jackson, to Monty Clift, to
Rock Hudson, to Mike Todd, to so many causes that
helped so many. This is a tribute to you, Elizabeth Taylor.

For some reason this afternoon this song came to mind and I couldn't rest until I found it on here and this version is lovely, Mathis and Streisand, heavenly. My favourite beat too, the Rumba, not that I can dance it well but great to sway and listen to.

@Jkaneshige  The Movie (The Sandpiper)? Streisand's version of the theme song, or Mathis' version of it?? The Movie (The Sandpiper) was, I believe without actually looking, was filmed in 1966.

Great actress. But terrible that they broke their marriages, it was a scandal. Because of this, they didn´t receive the blessing of God. She got married 8 times (not happy) .They had a fata story, no a good sample of love, so sorry.

@hnnjo5 If only it was that easy. Its not like it was when us Baby Boomers and those before were young. Social Networking these days does not mean catching the eye of someone across the dance floor from you; or being introduced in person in a softly lit nightclub anymore. Its all done anonymously, with pseudonyms and a photo. The magic doesn't begin from seeing the person in the flesh first and then 'working on' the getting to know one and other, and observing for those signs of compatability.
