I like Alex because she's the only Other that has enough courage to stand up for what she believes in, and I admire that. Her death was saddening.

Alex is my favoutrite character from Lost. Her death is the most upsetting and emotional in Lost.

@holymadgod Jigsaw WHAT THE FUCK!?!?! Jigsaw is a perverted asshole torturing others for his own enjoyment!

Ben did what he believed in, and he always SUCCESSFULLY manipulated EVERYONE, until Alex died! After tha HE STOPPED! Alex death was his only mistake and he learned from that. Jigsaw was THE WORST parable I've ever heard.

@Ekyvvsaq He cared about her. I won't argue that. But he was too confident in his ability to manipulate his peers. In a way, I feel that is him seeing others as expendable, because he knows fully well that if he slips up, others might die; he's just too cocksure to consider that he might actually slip up.

Oh, I totally agree. I sympathize for him completely. But it's like Jigsaw (from the Saw movies)-- I feel bad for him, but just because his past was terrible, doesn't justify his choices.

@holymadgod Yes she resisted, but against the whole Jacob-thing, that turned out to be true.

And when Ben said " theyre coming to kill us all, and when that happens you need to be as far away as possible" (or something like that) and when Widmores men captured I think she understood that her father was just thinking about her wellbeing...Then when he said all thosse things about how she didnt matter to him, that was cruel but just a failed attempt to manipulation. Yes he was selfish.

@Ekyvvsaq The Others gave their lives for what Ben believed in. Rather than conforming to that paradigm, she asserted herself and resisted.

Ben was right . . . for the wrong reasons. He saw his friends, even his own family, as expendable. Of course Alex's death devastated him, but if he hadn't seen her as expendable, further measures would have been taken to guarantee her safety. He may have fought for the good of the islanders, but all he ever wanted was to be Jacob. That's selfishness.

@holymadgod No. The others sacrified their lives constantly for what they believed in. Its sad. Alex realise just before her death her father was right all the time, no matter how brutal he was. I think if I were in her position I would be as questioning as she was.

The only comfort I get whenever a fav character dies is the fact that it is Lost were talking about, and that we'll probably see them again.
