This is a video showing you how you can change your tone arm on a technics SL 1200/1210 turntable.

ALWAYS UNPLUG YOUR MIXER FROM THE MAINS BEFORE ATTEMPTING ANY SIRVICING OR REPIRES.

INFORMATION.

Remember to set the anti-skating to 0 before removing the tone arm or it will not work correctly when you replace the tone arm.

When de-soldering and re-soldering the wires for the tone try to use lead solder as the solder originally used on the circuit board 90% of the time is leaded solder.

Dont forget to make note of the order the wires went in.

Make sure you store all the crews in a safe place and dont loose them.

WARNINGS.

Do not over tighten the 2 screws holding the tone arm to the rest of the assembly the screws in older models are made of aluminum, even the modern brass screws can cross thread easily.

Never turn the turntable upside down without any type of cushion under underneath it you could damage the tone arm, and be careful if youre using the turntable dust cover to support the turntable whilst its upside down the plastic they are made from is very brittle.

Be careful not to break any of the thin wires from the tone arm as they are a very delicate.
