Ironically evangelicals have more abortions than non-religious people, as well as higher divorce, and teen pregnancy rates!

praying and fasting is never going to convince any woman who has either made a mistake or been raped that she should have no control over her body. while some may thing abortion is wrong, not allowing a woman to do what she wants with her body is also wrong.

@polishdread As for my question regarding punishment, my point is that if you consider an embryo or fetus an innocent human life of some sort, then a woman who gets an abortion would be guilty of first degree murder. If Roe v. Wade were revoked, would you then like to see a woman who is raped and seeks an abortion imprisoned for life or executed? That's what you do to people who with forethought take the life of another human being. Is that the moral world you would like to live in?
-
@polishdread And why are people unaware? It's because they don't care. The entire pro-life movement is a sham. Abortions happen all the time, they happen through natural rejection of the fetus/embryo by the body, and yet we don't hold funerals for the contents of a menstruation, do we? This isn't about life at all, and it being an innocent and precious thing to be protected at all costs. It's about women, and controlling them, and punishing their sexuality.

@polishdread The chances of that are extremely rare.
They are 99% effective when used right.
That's like someone not wanting to drive a car because there is a small chance they might have a car accident and die.

@BigMikeMcBastard I'm also not a legislator or judge. It is not my decision to condemn a person for a crime. The issue is a higher law of murder. After five weeks, there is a heartbeat. The 'tissue' is alive with a heartbeat.
-
@BigMikeMcBastard Since Roe v Wade still stands, none because it is legal. I'm speaking from a moral perspective. What you are asking is a ludicrous question because how can you shed tears for something of which one is unaware?
-
@polishdread I never said anything about a stillborn. A significant percentage of pregnancies end very early on, often without the woman being aware she was pregnant, and the tiny mass of cells is discarded innocuously with the woman's monthly cycle. Do any pro-life people care? Hell no.
I have another question for you. How long should women who elect to have abortions in your pro-life world be incarcerated for? I assume you'd want a life sentence or the death penalty, state permitting?
-
@BigMikeMcBastard Your comparison of natural stillborn and physical abortion by another human being is laughable at best. You missed the point out of sarcasm. A fetus has heartbeat, therefore it's alive. So a fetus is dead until it resembles a human being?
-
@polishdread I'd say more than half of their pregnancies end in abortions, but the majority of those are spontaneous abortions which the body inflicts naturally and, generally, without the mother even knowing she's pregnant. How many tears do you weep for them? How many pro-life women care about the many spontaneous abortions they've likely had in the quest for a larger family?
Anyway, the rights of women supersede the rights of bits of tissue with human DNA but no mind, and no voice.
Good Stuff!
