Return rates in Finland:

- about 90% of plastic bottles (deposit: <0.5l 0.1€, <1l 0.2€, 1l and up 0.4€)

- 92% of aluminum cans (deposit: 0.15€)

- almost 100% of glass bottles (deposit: 0.1€)

(1€ is something like 1.2 USD

We've recyled bottles in Finland since 1980's (over 20 years!!) and haven't heard any complaints.

Deposits are proven to work. Don't listen to this lobbyist.  Just another moron who wants everything but doesn't want to pay for it. We shouldn't have services/wars if we can't pay for them. now it time to pay up or leave it up to our children like the red party wants to.

Bottle Bills work. It creates jobs, cleans up the environment, helps towns (less municipal trash costs). A deposit is Not a tax. No tax is fully refundable. The bottle industry uses scare tactics and lies. A tax does not create jobs, a bottle bill creates jobs.

i own a small bottled water company and this could break me! i dont know what to do about it and i have everything into this!

the recycling rate in bottle bill state are 3 times or even higher than states without bottle bills. This is NOT a tax but a deposit! Taxes you don't get back. I would love my taxes refunded to me in a form of deposit like bottle bills. The scare tactic of losing jobs is that.. a scare tactic. Jobs are created! This is all paid for by the beverage industry to AVOID bottle bills. The industry refuses to take about waste and tries to scare you that bottle bills will encourage us to recycle less.

redemption centers make profit by selling scrap metal and plastic. People in bottle deposit states have not consumed less beverage just because of a bottle bill but consumed more beverages. Less litter on the streets and no bottles are being trashed. If they are there is someone who does see a bottle and collects funds bottles stashing cash in their pockets. opponents of bottle bills are using scare tactic by saying taxes on recycling. I wish my taxes were given back to me as a deposit.
