Correct. But what Fox News does is not journalism. While they do have alloted hours of relatively straightforward news programs (although the editorlal choices sway even more heavily toward the sensational and petty than other networks), their flagship shows are simply nightly tossings of kerosene on the culture war fires. That's their purpose, to keep the divisions and keep them deep. It is not honest journalism.

MANY people were sour on Palin for a number of reasons, and it was not because of Ifill. Palin was nothing but an embarrassment to the U.S. with her lack of knowledge and abundant ignorance.

You've just sort of answered your own question. Exactly---we KNOW where Hannity stands because unlike Ifil, he is not a journalist----he is a pundit wearing a journalist's disguise. The two are not comparable by a long shot. Ifil's book situation was not ideal, no. But the Hannity comparison is simply not apt. Her ilk is in no way a counter to his ilk.
