Since 2000, the number of veterans receiving service-connected disability for tinnitus has increased by at least 18 percent each year. The total number of vets awarded disability compensation for tinnitus as of fiscal year 2006 surpassed 390,933. "American Tinnitus Association"

@fvgdfbdokd you are a fucking moron. You have no idea how bad tinnitus can really be. I served in Iraq and I've been exposed to an IED and have had gunfire right next to my head. The result extremely loud ringing in my ears. Its so loud that I cannot sleep. I have a hard time concentrating. Its an annoyance that never stops ever. You have no idea how severe tinnitus can really be. Go have an IED blow up next to you and then maybe you would know how bad it can be.

tinnitus is a load of crap. I've had it all my life. Yes its annoying sometimes but its really not that big a deal. These are just soldiers trying to extort money out of the government. Fuck 'em. There are plenty of military vets with real problems we should take care of before these bozos.

I got hit in Iraq in 2006 and my ears ring contstantly.. it sux :( I'm 90% deaf too..

I used to have tinnitus but a drug my doctor prescribed called beta-histine got rid of it. Occasionally it comes back and it always does the trick. I'm not in the army and mine wasn't caused through loud noises, but I'd still recommend that anyone with the problem give the drug a try.
