I remember buying the copy of Angling Magazine in 1980 with your man Yatesy on the cover with his Redmire 51 1/2 pounder. This fella is why I fish for carp and thats why my kids fish for carp...

It doesn't matter how old you are it doesnt matter if we were born with a silver spoon in our mouth it doesnt matter one bit whether you come off a housing estate or a leafy village. When the carp takes your bait we all feel the same..Its magic.

@cadinalrule George Sharmans book is what inspired me entirely. I remember my dad giving it to me on my tenth birthday as it was his and buying me my first full sized rod and sending me off to the local pond...

when i was a young ladi remember seeing him in George Sharmans book " carp and the carp angler " he was holding a 43lb redmire common....i was in awe of the bloke, one of the greats, a true alround angler and a very good photographer-writer.....any disrepectful comments made toward him make me smile...

much enjoyed this series of videos you posted. If only people would go back to the old ways, i am 18 and would rather fish like chris than use the tackle made now. fishing is getting much too technical nowadays, and i feel that i have sadly missed out on this type of angling. in my view this is what fishing should be. Thanks carpcatcher8 for this insight into the old ways of fishing. :)
