The Cyprus problem will be solved tomorrow. Our typical Kypraia meets a Turkish-Cypriot and they discuss the last matters regarding the return of all refugees. At some time during their conversation, they discover the absolute truth.

  • It's dangerous to generalise, how can you possibly say that you can't get on with Turks end of? Just as in any culture there are some wonderful Turkish people, but also there fair share of not so wonderful too.

  • @Mozgor First of all, the Turks came here ILLEGALLY, as an act of war. Second, it is not the people per se we have problem with, but the Turkish mentality.

  • This is stupid and staged

We can get along with Turkish-Cypriots but not with Turks.

    That's a fact

  • @StefanosKoutelis This is stupid but NOT staged. The lady is a professor of mine.

  • @elbbd Yes unfortunately your country took my half island and we give to you electricity money from cazinos we visit the other side and we aet there we buy clothes and we give to your country a lot of money but Turkey wants the whole island because we have oil and if you don't want my country why you still have it so many years give it back to us if you don't want it if it cost so much money to you

  • [continued] and we also want it for stability. Another important issue that Turkey stresses on is the safety of her ethnicity, without the requirement of her army's presence. Also I must admit we'll go back to financial reasons, Turkey want's to keep that ~$400.000 to spend it on her debts. That being said, you've got nothing to worry about, but to get rid of those pesky British and their army bases. Once the Turkish and the British army leaves, the island can be peaceful again.

  • [continued] So for this reason as well it is not a possibility for Turkey to take Cyprus. Cypriot-Turks, if you think they're sketchy, you'd be surprised, they are just trying to live and get by just like the rest of Cyprus. What's the only difference? They are poorer then you guys. So now that we have established that Turkey does NOT want the Island of Cyprus, we can move on to what Turkey really wants. Turkey wants the island to unite. First of all we want this for everybody.

  • [continued] It is not feasible even "IF" <(I'm stressing on this word here) Turkey wanted it. Nowadays people tend to think that its like a walk in the park to go and take over a sovereign lands. Like video games or something to that sort. It is highly expensive to mobilize troops. Turkey has better places to invest that money (that is if we have that money). Also a lot of Cypriot-Greeks forget, you are now part of EU, so touching you, will bring the attention of the rest of Europe.

  • @steftinademeefst

Come on! Do you really believe that Turks want the whole island? Sit down and crunch some facts together. Turkey wants nothing to do with Cyprus, why? Why might you ask> because 1. it costs us around ~400.000 dollars a year EXTRA to keep the north afloat. 2. Having a whole island is not an easy task, not easy to get it, and not easy to run it after you succeed taking over (that is if you take over) So when we come back to reality, it becomes clear that Turkey won't take Cyprus

  • We must overcome the hate that was lodged into our hearts resulting from events spewed out from the meetings held by those who truly don't belong to this island and yet have the interest to remain on this island. If you get the chance ask your grandparents who survived about how it used to be in the 40's and early 50's (before 56). They will tell you a different story, a story that tells about the people of an island who lived in harmony. Why was this taken from Cypriots? Peace is your right!

  • [continued] Greece was 1st country to offer swift support. That day many have realized in Turkey, that all these years the bitterness we felt was in vain. That day we came even closer. Turkey returned the same kind help she received from her neighbor on her bad day as Greece struggled after another earthquake hit her later that year. So what is the problem on the island? The problem is not the Turks or Greeks, but it's those people that we let in to take decisions on our behalf.

  • LIES separated US, and yet we still give into these lies, let them consume ourselves. We have forgotten the ways the people used to interact with each other, we have started to find pride in our differences, rather embracing everyday facts and logic. The worry of living is the same where ever you go, we all live with such worries and goals. Unfortunately we learn only in dire times how similar we are, such an example can come from the devastating earthquake in Turkey in 1999, Greece was the 1st

  • THERE IS ONLY ONE SOLUTION FOR THE MURDERES. ALL THE TURKS OUT OF CYPRUS. IF THEY LIKE TO STAY HERE WE SHALL SEND THEM TO CREMATORIUM.CYPRUS IS A GREEK ISLAND

  • im from a mixed village from paphos with muslims and cristians and i know that many greek cypriots looted the turkish houses and burned them whan they left and if some greek dared to say this was wrong they called him a traitor.so these man is right to feel this way the cyprus goverment of makarios had responsibility to protect turkish cypriots but he was a fanatic nationalist too and not honest even though he was a priest.
