  • @ElectromechanicPyro I tried this method with an I2C accelerometer one time, and it stopped working... When I tried reading acceleration data off the device, the only thing it would return was "seriously, man, what the hell?"

  • That is such a SparkFun way to do things :-D. Desoldering pump thingy??? Nah, lets just smack it. Hey, it worked last time!! :-)

  • @scopeeyevideo Gyroscopes and Accelerometers do not tolerate hard shocks, the internal structure breaks :-O

  • You guys heard of a Hot Air Rework Station? They run only about $90. Oh, and who needs goggles - just close your eyes when you smack it! XD

  • a propane torch and vice, strap in a PCB, heat it till the solder is molten, slap it with the handle of a screwdriver, everything comes flying out.

  • A propane torch is even faster. ;)

  • Hot solder on the legs...perhaps an owie ಠ_ಠ

  • Slapping a board against the table and subjecting everything to Zeus knows how many g's? Well that could be a way to torture test the board.

  • A closer look would have been nice...

  • Alligator clip on a rubber band, clip to header, tension, melt joint, repeat.

  • Or you can buy a desoldering pump for 2€ and not have "sodder" everywhere....
