See Part 1 before this if you haven't already
Plot:
An unemployed con man goes great lengths to stay at the house and possibly goes further than he'd ever anticipated.
I made this movie for Chinese 202 class and somehow I used it as an excuse to spoof everything possible (see list below). Hopefully this video will play out like a mix of a Stephen Chow movie and a live-action Family Guy episode. O yeah and thanks to everyone who was involved because I pretty much tortured everyone on set for about 9 hours (including myself)
Enjoy guys
List of things spoofed:
Family Guy
Metal Gear Solid
Maury
OJ Simpson
The Stephen Chow, "Mo Lei Tau/無厘頭" genre
Robot Chicken
Trivia (DONT READ UNTIL UVE SEEN THE MOVIE):
- I spent 3 weeks writing the script in English and had my teammates translate it into Chinese
- Many of the "bad translations" or "awkward subtitling" are intentional
- I am the only native Mandarin speaker in the movie...actually half, I spend most of my time speaking Canto (out of the time I speak Chinese of course...)
- "Where did the other guy" scene was ripped STRAIGHT from family guy with Peter talking to the devil
- Daniel Chadaratana was not part of our group but he was the cameraman and he doubled for me during the "devil" scene
- Dan and I spent about thirty minutes to an hour preparing Carwen for her fight scene by teaching her what little Muay Thai we knew at the time
- I originally wanted to do a full spinning Shoryuken during the Maury parody but since the floors were so shaky, we couldn't really jump
- The "stick disarm" at the end can ironically be found in the self defense section of various Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Instructionals
- I got an A in the class for this even though I only got a B+ in the midterm :-)
I really like it!! Good job!
