kip - more bodhran comparison videos -series 2 - i'm using an akg c419 clip on condenser mic - no eq - all levels are flat i'm using my black alfonso tipper, a RSE from Ralf at Bodhranshop, a 10$ tipper from MidEast mfg and a modified Promark multirod on the following drums;
16" mike quinlan frame with a 10 year old skin from john millen from thunderheart drums, 15" quinlan pro drum, 14" metloef lambeg from rob forkner at metloef, 15.5" or maybe it's 16" kangaroo skinned drum from Darius Bartlett and a 14" calf skin drum from Albert Alfonso.

  • i play a hybrid of kerry (traditional style) and topend style, with lots of double down sticking.

    for reels instead of dudu dudu i may use ddud uddu or dudd uddu

    for jigs instead of dud udu i may use ddu ddu or dud dud

  • Just about any mic will give you bass response.

    the closer the mic is to the sound source, the more prevalent the bass will be (proximity effect)

  • What's the frequencie range of this mic? I'm trying to find a good mic for my 16" x 7" that can pick up all the low ends.
