Hello! I'm here, and with a lot of videos to upload! I am currently trying to improve the quality of my videos, as I am aware that some of them (the motion videos - NOT the music/pictures ones) are of questionable quality, with regard to colour, sound, and smoothness. My actual videos are fine (.MOV), but to edit them in Windows Movie Maker, I have to convert them to .AVI - this lowers the quality significantly, for some reason. For this reason, do any of you know of - or use, even - a video editing program that can edit .MOV files, for free? Once I have one, I can begin to upload the backlogue of videos I now have - which numbers over 100.

Thanks guys! :)

  • I agree with LondonTransportFan69. It's nice to see you back. And my videos are in MPG but to put them on Windows Movie Maker, I had to convert them to AVI. And my Windows Movie Maker is always in trouble. Do you meet another program that's just like Windows Movie Maker?

  • @nicolasgordiano Hello. Well this is the thing - and sometimes, my copy of Windows Movie Maker freezes if I am making a reasonably long video, and so continually loses my work. I know of several much better programs, but no free ones as of yet. I tried AVS, but that needs loads of plug-ins that take forever to download - and even after that, you need to purchase an activation code. If you do come across something, please let me know - I will continue searching, and keep you up to date! Thanks.

  • Ooo i really am looking forward to these new videos :) Its nice to see you back on here.

  • @LondonTransportFan69 It's good to be on here again. The videos will be too when I have improved the quality!

  • Dunno if it's too late to mention this- FWIW, you can download unrestricted demo's of the various versions of Sony Vegas which are then free to use for a month.

I find it copes nicely with every format I've thrown at it (including AVCHD even on my fairly modest system), is flexible and easy to use. I will be buying a copy soon- standard disclaimer.

As for Movie-Maker- if it weren't free it'd be over-priced but it's still better than the rubbish that came with my camera.
