The footage in this video was taped in or prior to September 2007, before my departure for college. When I first joined the Great Y Circus (ycircus.org) in November 2004, I was quite curious about juggling. My main questions were answerable but the ones that I really wanted to know were about records. For world records there was this handy thing called the world wide web but no one could point me in the direction of obtaining the juggling records of that circus. What happened to the jugglers before me who could only be relayed verbally to me in the qualitative terms of disputable accuracy by non jugglers ("He juggled lots of stuff", "There was this guy 10 years back who was good.", "I remember a juggler who was good who performed here."). I got the distinct impression they vanished into thin air only to be remembered as "good". Well that's really helpful for an up and comer: "To be the best this circus has ever had you need to be a little better than 'good.'" Which brings us to the purpose of this video. This video is what I intend to leave behind to everyone in the Great Y Circus. When I arrived, Michael Forbes was the current best by my understanding since many people referred to him as such. Since I am a superior solo technical juggler I assert I am now the best while making the following assumptions: 1) More than 20 years ago, anyone better than me would have been famous and thereby more remembered. 2) Any less than 20 years ago, they would have been good enough to catch lots of attention and perhaps a first name would be remembered. To my knowledge, there is no such person in either category but since assumptions are clearly fallible, feel free to inform me via youtube that I am mistaken and I will immediately give credit where credit is due. That said here are the records for the Great Y Circus (not on video), my personal records, as of my departure in September 2007. Good luck with spending considerable amounts of time working on breaking these. I recommend having no life. To be clear, I am defining a Y Circus juggler as someone who has spent time teaching and learning in the Y Circus and regularly in attendance in a juggling class there for at least one year. Skills acquired after leaving the circus are not eligible.

6 clubs -- 12 catches
7 balls -- 400 catches
7 rings -- 49 catches
7 clubs -- 31 catches
9 balls -- 25 catches
10 balls -- 10 catches

*And yes I worked damn hard to qualify (and back to the pattern, if you count collecting the record is 12 catches) and never did until THE WEEKEND AFTER I LEFT, WTF?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

  • We all want to save money but there are ways that few people know about. Some are really fun rather than the problem of always trying to get money off food. I found a really great way to get massive discounts off all sorts of items.
