With all eyes on London this week, not many people were paying much attention to the election campaign as it nears the end.
The pollsters are still tracking a surge on the left. The latest poll for CTV and the Globe and Mail has the NDP in second place, trailing the Conservatives by only five points.
That has all the political parties pulling out all the stops this weekend -- to make sure their supporters get to the polls on Monday.
Bolstered by surging popularity, Jack Layton is made two stops in Conservative ridings in B.C. on Friday, including Vancouver Island North, where polls suggest the NDP message is gaining ground.
Some political analysts are calling it the "Jack Factor". and they say the surge is engaging voters in a way not seen for some time.
"His ears are going to be ringing across the country as people determine what this means for Canadian politics", says University of Victoria Political Scientist.
Pilon believes Layton will be the talk of the breakfast table this weekend. He suspects that could backfire driving other parties to get their vote to the polls.
