This is an idea I have for a short film that should be based on the events that took place shortly after the Velvet Revolution in Prague, Czechoslovakia on 17.11.1989.

I am not really good at giving a movie pitch.

'How children see things that adults understand completely.' I love that concise description ... It's a universal theme that can transcend the specifics of your story. Someone won't have to have been through the revolution to understand.

@filmester Too much to describe in detail. It started when I lost my job in Connecticut. Then I was told if I was willing to move across country I could be hired for a position to be filled. I did and it didn't work out. I was making out 2 rent checks a month. Then I found a job at a startup company which went under in 2 months. I also lost $10,000, but that's a story in itself. Things were dismal and I was feeling worthless, to say the least.

I was in the US Army in Germany when the wall fell. We were near the Czech border.

Czech's had been driving over to Germany, packed in those ŠKODA's. My Hummer had Red Cross markings, I was a medic. I was driving on the autobahn when a group of people flagged me down, I thought they might need medical help.

They turned out to be a Czech family. The Grandfather wanted to meet an American soldier, to thank for liberating his village at the end of WWII. I was the soldier. I felt so happy.
