To pray for and love the individual is a beautiful and compassionate response. The battle is a spiritual battle for their soul. Our desire is not only to set them free from the addiction but also from their slavery to sin so they may have eternal life in Christ.

People who are addicted are really under the control of Satan! They may seem like they don't want help. That's what the devil wants us to think and to not bother with them. Many, after free from addiction, said they thought their life was terrible, & hated themselves back then for so much wrong doing (the devil doesn't want us to know they have these kinds of thoughts). And many wished they could die during their addiction time. They CAN NOT help themselves! Under Satan's control! Pray & Love.

Pray that the Holy Spirit brings conviction of guilt as to sin, righteousness and judgment to those bound by addiction. Break every stronghold, demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God. Pray that our fast will be pleasing to God and will set the oppressed free. Pray that the addicted will trust in Jesus Christ as both Savior and Lord and be set free to hunger and thirst for the Word of God and the righteousness of Christ.
