@mtr82952 Well sure they keep changing, but IMO these guys *still* did this large of a setout for ONE customer, at least a water or something wouldn't hurt. Who cares if its a diff crew each time, when you have a crapload out, give that crew that'll take it and not leave everything in like total mess some sort of gift. Just my opinions.

I loved the helpers reaction when that first bin fell into the truck. He didn't seem to excited to have to pull it out.

@SurreyCans Here people can set out two pieces of furniture each week or two white goods. They are slowly beginning to not take any E-Waste at all now, since there are free drop off places in the area. Cans can be anywhere from 10-35 gallons (but you can use carts if you want to) I have seen people set out one bag each week, or four carts of trash each week. Yard Waste is unlimited other then you are told to set out five bundles of brush per time, but most guys take more. Recycle is unlimited.

Garbage in Surrey BC is 2 bag/can limit /w 3rd can/bag for homes with an additional suite. My motto when rolling through Newton /w Indian 10 bedroom castles is take all cans I'm able to lift and let the drink tips flow from the housewives who enjoy the action. ;)
We do extra and get good tips for it but the official 3 can on garbage can prevent abuse. I figure everyone deserves a spring clean up so I take till the driver drives away on me :D
Wow good for them for actually doing a decent job leaving the bins tidy...still have to agree with the other comments, it would've been appropriate to tip these guys I think. Thanks for the post though!

@Trashman242 I agree! And I would tip, but crews keep changing so I do not bother.

...so the cans are so big it's easy to sneak in banned items. I'm soooo gonna use that on my website. I agree. (I see it /a regular cans also, sneaking in oil containers....or thinking they go /w recycle...they don't. Auto stores take oil cans back for seperate oil recycle.

@SurreyCans Exactly, think of it like this. Someone sets a computer monitor in a trash can, when you go to dump it you will be able to feel something is heavy and does not belong. Even if you dump the can you can easily retrieve the unacceptable items from the hopper on a rear loader. With an automated side loader you will not be able to feel the weight of the items when you go to dump the toter. Then once it is in the hopper it is a pain to take out.

We have a 5 ton truck, regular cube truck, that does large item pickup for Surrey. You gotta call in to have it picked up but can have 4/year (mostly furniture and appliances, both not allowed in garbage). I hope E-waste, Comps and electronic stuffs, are one day called in the same way for FULL SERVICE pickup for our city. We got bottle depos where electronic recycling can go but it's always in garbage cans or bagged up and snuck into cans b/c lack of system for proper pickup of items.

@SurreyCans Here there are two dump trucks but I never have seen them on route. They have a couple rear load trucks assigned to bulk and route help. You can take E-waste to the MRF, some electronics shops, or to a school (on select days every three months) that is another flaw with carts (toters) people who have them sneak all kinds of crap (oil, e-waste, and yard waste) in to them.
