Amen brother. It was my exact same reaction. I loved Transformers growing up, I would watch it whenever it was on. Even watched Beast Wars and Beast Machines when those came out many years later. Then I saw the teaser trailer for a Transformers movie 'YESSSSSSS!' Then I saw in the credits 'Directed by Michael Bay' 'OH FUCK NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!' I knew it was going to be total shit, And indeed it was..... I feel your pain

Everyone keeps saying that the critics are wrong and that the sales for the movie prove that. I beg to differ. You know what else was a runaway hit when it came out? Ghostbusters II, a movie which is now reviled, since it no longer has the benefit of nostalgia to get people to watch it.
Mark my words, Revenge Of The Fallen is a flash-in-the-pan success, and when we're two or three years out from this, the nostalgia junkies will start changing their tune.
This was an awful movie.
