The Riptides: "Tomorrow's Tears", 1980

From the vaults, direct from 3/4 U-matic video to MPEG4.

This is a bit of a "lost" videoclip for the cult powerpop band the Riptides, made while I was a second-year student at Griffith University.

There's quite a story as to why it appears here, but I'll have to fill you in on that later (or do a bit of googling for yourself).

The Riptides were:

(1978 - 1983) Mark Callaghan vocals, bass - Dennis Cantwell drums - Andrew Leitch guitar, keyboards - Scott Matheson guitar

  • @alfa1750s2 haha I was at that gig too!

  • @LOVEYOUSHORTTIME Countdown song list was dominated by record companies who all paid that fat ponce money to play THEIR records. Anyone independent was crushed or just ignored. How I look forward to dancing on the grave of that imbecile with the wig!

  • @martaTFF

    here here ..

  • this is so good that it's almost disgusting. what a brilliant band

  • Real talent! At a time when Countdown and the rest of those imbeciles from mainstream tv / radio were focused on mediocre BS and crap like Cold Chisel and the rest of those Bogan idiots, let us for not forget that the Riptides and otehr bands made life so much fun. Not everybody in Australia is a bogan, moran and suburban cretin!
