I wouldn't recommend a bloodhound as a family pet. Reuben is pretty much a one person dog and that person is my ex-wife. I knew a guy who had a bloodhound several years ago and he said the same thing, but the dog chose him over everybody else. It is true about the drool flinging. I swear that Reuben can fling his drool and hit whatever he is aiming at.

Advertisement as always. Anyway, it is often said that the Bloodhounds have to look wrinkly to have their good sense of smell, but the weird thing is that there are still bloodhounds with very smooth and less floppy ears who are still used as sniffing dogs.
