I live not ten minutes away from her birthplace, 1 Bank Terrace, a modest end terraced house in Higher Walton, Lancashire, it has a lovely plaque on the wall with the comment that her voice gave pleasure to millions, a little further up the road is her memorial garden, each time I pass either a tear comes to my eye, Klever Kaff gave us a wealth of beautiful music, I remember when she sang for Sir Thomas Beecham and after her performance turned to him and said 'Was that alright love'?, RIP .
