@locuraporcina Oh wait a second. I think I get it. He's in the army and he wants to hear his baby's request to bring back some memories. Man, I'm wicked smart!

I love this song, but can someone please explain to me why the heck this video is shot in a military camp in the middle of a desert?

@03201952shy My comment was about a song on the album, not the title track, and I did not mention lyrics. Paul is notoriously not primarily a lyricist. I believe in the feel of a song, which transcends both melody (still very important) and lyrics (decidedly less so).

The bonus track of this on Kisses on the Bottom made me discover this. It's a real gem, I don't know which version is best. Both are great.

lol Paul's such a cutie with all his mannerisms ><

@thesubtleface Where did you come up with your "divine" lyrics to "London Town?" The lyrics are: "Silver rain was falling down, upon the dirty ground of London Town."

@565tsunade565 I strongly doubt it. James was only two years old when this video was shot.

A cute song showcasing one side of Mccartney's musical personality. I maintain, however, it is a fish out of water on the Back to the Egg album. Being what it is and last on the song selection reveals they had as much trouble fitting it in as I do. One can say this about alot of Paul's songs (She's Leaving Home, Sally G.). Cross-capability was (one of his) massive strengths. But Wings was a light Rock band, and this kinda stuff belonged on B-sides.
This is a perfect song - the quality of Paul's voice, the lyrics, the words, the production.
One of Paul's great "old time" songs - same ilk as When I'm sixty-four, Honey pie, You gave me the answer, Your mother should know, English tea...

This song was my first love, at the age of about 5 or 6. Does or did anybody else have an absolute adoration of this song? Many of Paul's minor album tracks (minor in key as well as popularity) are often his best, e.g. "Letting Go" on Venus and Mars, which is strangely never talked about as being among his best most energetic songs, or the divine "Don't let it bring you down" on London Town.
