Cane toads 'invade' Western Australia - 12 Nov 08

Australia seems to be losing a battle against the Venezuelan cane toad.

About 100 were brought to Australia in 1935 to combat sugar cane beetles.

But the toads went after everything else and have expanded their empire across northeastern Australia.

Tony Birtley reports on the effort to stop them moving to Western Australia.

Yeah, you're probably right, but what would be EVEN better, is if they killed ONE frog, and from that one frog, they can make millions of synthetic frogs.Think about it! People would be less squeemish in that kind of project, it would kill less frogs, you could buy them at stores instead of ordering them, less chance of germs, and they're reusable! It's the perfect solution!

@Quadroblitz Now, I dont so much mind them getting rid of them, but as I love the fowlers toad here in SC, I think thats a GREAT idea! Or they ship em all to Venuzuala! BUT i would rather we stop killing native leopard frogs for disection and use the invasive cane toads. Think about all the northern leopard frogs that die for disection.

My world is not "bubble-wrapped." I'm pretty sure I had a pretty rough life. If my life was truely bubble-wrapped, I wouldn't be on the internet picking fights with trolls. Anyways, yea, I feel bad for all the little animals (oh yea, and humans... meh) who die when coming into contact with these creatures. Still, that in NO WAY justifies the slaughtering of these creatures. It was the fault of all humans that they ended up here in the first place; they should have thought about it.

@Quadroblitz You seriously have no idea what you're talking about. How about you come and live here, have your dog or cat killed by one. Little kids are regularly poisoned by toads after accidentally picking them up and getting poison on their hands then mouth. You have no idea in the world what goes on outside your little bubblewrapped universe.
