Well she walked into work one day last December

And she was told that her services werent needed anymore

So she got herself a job at the local fast food

She put a smile on her face, to avoid being rude




Hes got two daughters in college

And hes got a nice house on the nice sound of town

And his wife is really cool




Hes got credit cards and a really nice car

That would make most people drool

Hes got a paved driveway and

hes thinking someday of installing a swimming pool




Hes got a garden full of flowers and spends every spare hour

To have the best damn garden in town

And his neighbors are nice, nicest around,

And his whole nice world is getting shoved in the ground




These are two people I know

And I feel oh so bad

Cause lately the situation is common

People losing everything they had




Oh people were buying foreign cars instead of buying Uncle Sam's

The trickle down theory really works well for all the Sirs and Maams

But the money got tight for everyone in sight, in a regular neighborhood

Cause when you work your whole life, and so does your wife, and you lose

Everything that you had,

It just aint good
