what rev do you shift at? this is a good video, like you said if you ever lose your clutch and need to get home you can do this.
also you should be able to start a car in first gear to get you going

dman my friend never uses his clutch passed 2 gear even when he coms 2 a complete stop he gives it gas an can jam that shit in to 1 a go crazy but true

Well, the car is 40k miles older than the making of this video and still being occasionally shifted clutchlessly.
Nothing visible so far.

unnecessary load on the gearbox that really is awesome.

Done right it's not any load. It will be your only way of moving a manual with a damaged clutch pedal assembly.

No. There is much more load, because the torque from the engine is still turning the gearbox when the shift is made.

There's no load applied in the split second that you are moving the stick. You rely on clever timing to make sure the gears are synchronized w/o clutch.
When you back off the gas there's a split second when the gears are spinning faster then the engine due to inertia.
Think/google before you post.
