This tutorial shows you how to create folders for custom content and identify them to Source Filmmaker so the content will be available in SFM without using the Usermod Folder.

SFM - Game (Create a folder named something that ident the model contained, Say Toothless)

Open the models GCF or compressed file (zip, rar, 7z, etc) downloaded from Gmod or Gamebanana

In the compressed file structure find the the level that contains Models, Materials, Sound, Maps, Particles

Drag these folders to the folder you created in the SFM - Game folder (do not drag Script or Luas to this folder)

Go to the Usermod folder.

Open the Gameinfo.txt file in a text editor.

In the section Search Paths under the entries already there but before the first closing }

type game toothless (in the same format as already there)

File save the gameinfo.txt

Close and restart SFM

Your content SHOULD become visible in its own folder reference in the model selector
