We bolt the GoPro camera to the front bumper of my '89 Honda 250R. The ride starts in the valley below the Shamokin end of the "Mile Road" near the old "Mile" lake in an area we call "The Backwoods". Very tight trails at the start of the video, we do a complete loop around one small section of 'the backwoods' and then we head up the hill climb out of 'the backwoods' and on through the 'S-Turn Pines' where I run the camera into an uprooted tree on the trail. I continue onto the "Mile Road" near the lake named "The Projects" where the video ends. Video was shot in 100 degree weather.
Do you recognize these Shamokin and Trevorton trails ?
We mounted the GoPro camera to the front bumper for this ride and it messed up the sound of the video. We're workin on it....
@phood537
You can ride this land 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We ride Reading Anthracite's land and Northumberland counties land, both are behind the towns of Shamokin and Trevorton. This particular video is more towards Shamokin.
Too bad the sound quality sucks so bad in this video. We rigged up some rubber mounts to help isolate the camera, and it helps, so our future "bumper-cam" video's should sound better.

@boxingboxers We were just talking about how we can isolate the camera with some kinda rubber setup. We tried the same mounting system on the handlebars and the sound is slightly better, but still sucks. Mount the camera back on his helmet and the sound is perfect. Thanks for the input, we're open to all suggestions. The front bumper mount view is awesome IMO, it really shows the speeds better than the helmet mount, but damn that sound quality.
FYI this is a GoPro Wide helmet cam.

you may want to isolate the camera from the frame with some rubber mounts if possible. this may reduce the hard sounds. even if you put rubber shims inside the clamps that mount to the bumper.

@groutaone
You might be onto something with the solid mount theory....
We tried the high and low sound settings on the camera and it still sounds messed up. Same bad sound with both quads too, the YFZ and my 250R. Put the camera on your helmet and it sounds great.
Also.. I used a new video editor for this video and I think the video quality looks pretty bad.

I think the sound is distorted because the mount is too solid, you know like if you would put your ear against the frame when its running you would hear all kinds of sounds that you didnt hear before. I wonder how it would work if the camera was in a foam box and then attatched to the frame? Iam just thinking out loud is all. great vid
