  • Here's my take on it - The start to finish was longer than a 1/4 mile and he didn't catch up until almost 136mph. I'd say my naked bike did pretty damn good considering the circumstances. But the full faired sport bikes have a major advantage at those triple digit speeds, no question about it.

  • @tekmoe Also, the Honda 4 will never sound as good as that Triumph 3!

  • It's a speed triple. A pretty quick one too.

  • @gagnar Not enough RPM on the dial for a 675.

  • Completely different bikes. Its like comparing apples to oranges. I have owned many bikes. The speed triple has been my favorite. It is a blast for city ridng and is a great canyon carver. In addition it has way more character than a 600rr. Sure, the 600rr is great for the track, but how much time do most riders really spend there. You definately get the most for your dollar on a speed triple.

  • I'm pretty sure that it was a street triple 675, not the speed which is 1050.

  • You're all missing the point. Naked bike vs fully-faired sportbike? Aerodynamics at 100+, a faired bike with comparable horsepower will pull past a naked bike. Just like any Italian super car will pull past a 500hp time attack Evo X or STI. Comparing apples to oranges here. Who spends the majority of their time over 100mph, anyway? I've seen skill riders on naked bikes easily keep up with 1000cc sport bikes in the twisties. Faster from 0-120 = win in my book.

  • @LittleBlueSubie kind of missing the point of a hooligan bike; its like comparing a mustang 750 HP super snake to a porsche 911(997 turbo).

  • @LittleBlueSubie There are quite a few factors in this we need to consider. Weight, amount of valves, aerodynamics etc. Yeah the speed triple has more CC, but getting more power in at higher RPMs is key. bigger displacement doesn't mean a win or anything...its all in what the manufacturer is aiming for..

  • @LittleBlueSubie It also has one less cylinder, douche.

  • Triumph still has a lot to learn and still a long way to go.
